Aus der Produktbeschreibung wird nicht ersichtlich, dass es verschiedene Ausgaben gibt, unter anderem die "Jugendbuchausgabe" mit ca. 250 Seiten. Diese behandelt nur die Aufstellung und Ausbildung der Truppe. Die "reguläre" Version behandelt auch Einsätze und hat knapp 200 Seiten mehr.
Due to the TV series "The unit" I was "forced" to buy this book. The author describes in a way his and the Delta Forces development that makes the Reader sometimes laughing, sometimes imagining how tough this must have been. Do like the book very much..
Ein wirklich spannender Bericht eines frühen Insiders über die ersten Jahre dieser sagenumwobenen Spezialeinheit. Leider werden Berichte über Missionen sehr kurz und auch flach gehalten. Dennoch sehr lesenswert für all diejenigen, die mehr über die legendäre Delta Force wissen wollen.
Sehr realistisch und interessant. Die meinung eines NCO ist wichtig - Offiziere könnten da lernen (wenn sie nur wollten). Wie so oft, werden Offiziere , die ehrlich sind, ausgebremst.......(kenne mich da leider aus)

New. Very nice book, i would recommend it to all those ones who like special forces operations and military books
The book is a collection of memories of mr Haney. Appart from his selection and training program in Delta Force the other episodes are relatively boring. They lack detail and are not in any chronological or logical order.The selection and training programs take up about half of the book but they also lack detail. Also mr Haney presents himself as part of the founders of Delta Force, but resulting from his recollections he was just part of the second wave of recruits who joined the unit. Training and selection programs were already in place when he joined. Apart from taking part at this mr Haney presents no evidence of him actually shaping this programs.The one interesting thing is that he presents the different things Delta Force traines in thus giving the reader a basic impression of the capabilities and missions Delta Force operators might be tasked with.
Hatte die Serie gesehen und wollte mehr erfahren.Das Buch verfolständigt die in der Serie angerissenen Themen.Das ein oder andere ist etwas schwer zu verstehen im Buch, aber man versteht es dann nach und nach.
