Thierry Legault is a world-renowned astrophotographer. In 1999, Legault received the prestigious Marius Jacquemetton prize from the Societe Astronomique de France for his astronomical photographs. He is so highly regarded in this industry that the International Astronomical Union officially bestowed the name Legault on asteroid #19458. Legault co-authored the book New Atlas of the Moon (Firefly, 2006) and has written numerous articles about astrophotography for French and American magazines. He regularly presents courses and gives astrophotography lectures in Europe, America, and Asia. Legault’s images, most notably those of the International Space Station, have been published and broadcast worldwide including NASA publications, Nature, Scientific American, The Times, The Wall Street Journal, Popular Science, Aviation Week, Discovery Channel, BBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, Fox, CBC, and MSNBC.Thierry earns his living as an engineer and is currently living in the suburbs of Paris, France. Also ich habe schon einige Bücher zum Thema gelesen, muss aber sagen, dass dieses hier mit Abstand das beste ist. Hier wird alles angesprochen.Es wird nicht nur beschrieben, wie man vorgehen sollte, sondern es werden auch die theoretischen Hintergründe , wie zum Beispiel Signal Rausch verhältnis, Bayermatrix, Auflösungsvermögen u.a., angesprochen. Nun ist das in den meisten Büchern schwere Kost, hier aber nicht. Der Autor schildert alles so, dass auch der Nichtprofi die Materie prima verstehen kann, sozusagen wie in der Schule. Mir ist seit diesem Buch einiges klar geworden und es ist DIE perfekte Lektüre für Leute, deren Ziel es ist, anspruchsvolle Astroaufnahmen zu machen. Deshalb uneingeschränkt 5 Sterne!
Wer eine Zusammenfassung des letzten Standes auf dem Gebiete der Astrofotografie sucht, wird hier fündig. Allerdings ersetzt es nicht das Suchen weiterer Informationen im Web, speziell zu den unterschiedlichen Computer Programmen. Das Buch enthält einen sehr guten theoretischen Teil zur Bildverarbeitung und den dazu benötigten Programmen. Einer der besseren deutschsprachigen Büchern! Sehr zu empfehlen.
Schön geschrieben, tolle Beispielfotos (grösstenteils von Thierry Legault selbst gemacht), und nutzliche Erklärungen der diversen Methoden und Ausrüstungen die man in der Astrophotographie verwenden kann. Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Kauf dieses Buches.
Astrophotography by Thierry Legault is a beautifully designed book by a very knowledgable author. All aspects of astrophotography are explained in detail, and scattered througout the book are samples of jealousmaking pictures by the author. Highly recommended!
